It’s no surprise that we’ve seen some drastic changes over the last few years when it comes to marketing for small business owners, and for many it can feel incredibly hard to not only keep up on the latest trends, but to actually create the results that made them show up in the digital marketing world to begin with— grow their audience, make more sales, create an impactful + well known brand.

“I feel so overwhelmed in my business with all the incoming alerts, inquiries, etc → I need a social media  manager…”
“I feel like no one sees my posts and my views/following isn’t growing at all → I need a social media manager…”

Truth be told… you’re more than likely don’t actually NEED a social media manager…👀

Unless you’re a pretty large brand and need the actual “managing” part of the community + multiple platforms… it’s really just a “buzz word” you’ve been hearing that you’re hoping will make your business feel a bit (or A LOT 😅) easier + and actually get your content SEEN by your people. 🫣


So here is my hot take on these thoughts from a former SMM and someone who has been in the online marketing space for almost a decade…

→ Don't know what to post? You need a solid social media strategy and most don't know this but a social media manager is NOT a social media strategist…. The role is in the name in that they simply “manage” social media on all platforms your brand is on.

→ overwhelmed? More than likely you one of the following (which is NOT a social media manager) …  you either need to SIMPLIFY your systems, reflect and possibly restructure how your business works, or you need to bring someone into do the admin work if you already have the previously mentioned two NAILED down + solid (which would fall under the role of an Operations Business Manager or Virtual Assistant).

**also when you have a solid strategy built for your business both your actual business strategy + your  marketing… There are SO many underutilized tools you can use BEFORE getting to the point of outsourcing and hiring.

→ Feel like no one is seeing your posts + it feels impossible to grow? Again this falls under “strategy” vs “management” and bringing someone into to help you push out more content from the same space you’re working from will only create MORE of the result you are currently receiving

So let me share with you what you probably *ACTUALLY* need instead of a social media manager…
